Account manager

Pasadena, CA

We are looking for an energetic, smart, tech savvy, quick learner who can serve as a strategic account manager for our agency collaboration software. Account managers will be actively involved in developing and executing long-term growth plans for our key customers with a strong focus on our agency customers and marketing teams within large brands.


Account expansion

  • Prospect, qualify and open new opportunities in existing client base
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of future growth within assigned base of accounts
  • Secure annual account contract renewals
  • Facilitate the buying and purchasing cycle within the client and internally including contract creation, special client requirements ranging from security assessments to RFP responses, routing for approval and execution
  • Schedule and conduct system demonstrations with prospects within existing accounts
  • Expand accounts by branching into new departments, user groups, and segments within assigned accounts
  • Manage sales through forecasting, account resource allocation, account strategy and planning

Strategic client relationships

  • Develop close relationships with a minimum of 3 business champions per account
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews (onsite when possible) with each account
  • Conduct periodic formal account reviews with accounts to identify areas of improvement, additional value creation and deeper penetration into their business

Account value creation

  • Create, maintain and update account strategic plans within CRM that focus on a long-term roadmap for the client’s success and deep value creation using our solution
  • Work very closely with Engagement Manager assigned to the account to identify potential areas of risk and opportunity to drive further value within assigned accounts
  • Analyze account needs in order to collaborate cross-functionally within the organization
Measurements of success
  • Achieve user adoption targets (measured as aggregated user activity and contribution)
  • Achieve quarterly quotas
  • Meet or exceed defined renewal targets within assigned accounts
What we’re looking for
  • Sales experience into or direct work experience within marketing teams and/or advertising agencies
  • 7+ years of professional work experience, technical account/client management experience, preferably working with project management products
  • SaaS-oriented experience a plus
  • Strong cold calling and networking experience
  • Proven ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with customers especially at the executive level
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey issues clearly, making points concisely
  • Project management or account management skills, specifically, being able to lay out deliverables and follow-through on hitting them
  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Previous experience in an advertising agency is a plus
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience executing high quality results in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with named accounts having 50,000 employees
  • 4-year degree required
  • Minimum 5 years experience selling cloud based solutions, preferably to marketing teams and/or advertising agencies
  • Proven successful track record of exceeding sales quotas
  • Ability to navigate a complex sales cycle involving multiple stakeholders
  • Passionate, determined, well spoken, analytical
